JacquelineJacqueline Fernandez (born 11 August 1985) is a Sri Lankan actress and model. In addition to her appearances on reality TV and music videos She has also worked in Indian films, mostly in Hindi. After her debut with Aladin in 2009 and has since started her career in the Hindi film industry. Fernandez is the daughter of an ethnically diverse Eurasian family that includes a Canadian, Sri Lankan and Malaysian mother. She was born and raised in Bahrain, a country that is a part of. After graduating from mass communication from the University of Sydney and working as a reporter for a TV station in Sri Lanka, she joined the modeling business. She was crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka in 2006 and represented her country in Miss Universe 2006. Since the month of December 2021 Fernandez is being investigated of the case of money laundering that involved the sum of Rs200 crore. The investigation is being conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) who interrogated Fernandez for 10 hours about the matter on 9 December 2021. On 22 December, ED rejected Fernandez's request to downgrade the Lookout Circular (LOC) which was issued against her in the matter that hinders her from traveling outside of India
